What can you put into the tea to make it taste better? i just got my tea and tried it ...not so yummy! Is sugar ok? Will that make it better? I'll gulp it down if I have to if it works to relieve gas but i would prefer to sit down and enjoy a cup a tea.

I know the tea does not taste the best, but I would drink it just as is. Adding things to it may cause more IBS problems.
Once you have been drinking it for a while, you will get use to the taste; I did.
Hang in there, we are all trying to win this awful battle.

If you do a Search on:
hate fennel
on the IBS Diet Board with no time limit you'll see that this has come up a lot and can get some suggestions for what to do. In general, people recommend making fennel + something else tea: fennel plus peppermint tea, fennel plus roobios tea, fennel plus chamomile tea, fennel plus black currant tea, etc. Here's one of those old threads: web page
Adding sugar should be fine although I have to say that just makes it taste more licorice-y to me.

Thanks for the info. I tried the Rooibos tea. Not bad but I did find mixing it with Tetleys Summer berrry Blend tasted really good. I actually found that the fennel tea didn't help with my cramping. Even herbal teas don't agree with my stomach. The Rooibos tasted pretty close to reg tea and didn't bug my gut. Thanks again for the info. It's nice to have tea again.

Here's another idea. I use anise in my fennel tea. It tastes a whole lot better and adds more power to the less gas and better systolic effects of the fennel. Also, you can add some italian herbs into the fennel tea. It's a really great drink when you're eating italian food!
