Hi,

Last Monday I used fat free Kraft mayo in my salmon salad and had an attack although I ate this with a flour tortilla.

Was the problem the mayo? It tasted like the real thing, not bad at all.

Today I plan to buy white albacore tuna, and double check the fat content.

This is starting to really SUCK!

Kraft Fat Free Mayo contains HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) which should be avoided as well as fat. This is discussed in the EFI diet.

You have to read the ingredients label for each product you purchase carefully for triggers and other problem ingredients.

Good luck

Managing IBS is quite frustrating. However, although there are many restricted foods if you stick to the EFI diet you find that the foods you can eat are very healthy and your IBS will be more manageable. Generally speaking you have to be quite careful with prepared foods because they frequently contain IBS unfriendly ingredients. Personally, I rarely buy prepared foods, especially sauces and condiments. Stick with the EFI you will get the hang of it

Hi Syl,

Well I went ahead and had the fat free mayo this afternoon in my tuna for my tuna salad. So far, no bad responses, but the day isn't over yet. I did use my first 1/4 tsp. of Acacia today. Hopefully in the next few weeks I will be better.

I also made some guacamole with just lime juice and that was pretty good. I feel much better today than last Monday when I had the attack from the salmon.

Thanks for your comments and insights.
