Another SF question

I loved Heather's Acacia but it gave me horrible, uncontrolable heartburn so I stopped taking it. What I want to know is -- do the other SF's have the prebiotic effect that the Acacia Tummy Fiber claims? I was feeling much better and am now on Metamucil and feeling not as good. But, I just can't put up with that heartburn. I read your posts about FiberCon. Should I try that or are there other suggestions? Thanks!

I don't know about other SFS but Benefiber with wheat dextrin is a prebiotic. Here is a message I posted about it last year.

I have used Benefiber and its generic Optifiber with success. Both of them disolve really well. There are other generics of Benfiber (Walgreen's and TopCare come to mind), but they don't disolve as well.

I've never even tried acacia.
