Can anyone here tolerate a cup of decaf or real coffee? Anyone?

You don't have symptoms with it? You may have given me some hope.

Sorry, I'm of no help. I used to drink only 1 cup of each morning but gave it up a while ago. It wasn't that hard for me to do so I wasn't willing to take any chances.

I wish I could but my answer is, sadly, no. I miss it terribly. Besides messing with my digestion and bloating me out to ends of the earth, it disturbs me on an energetic level. My body just...can't. Are you hoping to reincorporate it?

I will have a cup of coffee sometimes after I've gone to the bathroom and feel pretty stable. I don't normally drink it if I have to go somewhere. I work from home so I take my chances at times. It does make me go though. I won't have it if I'm already going too much. I'm an IBS-D. Did you used to drink coffee and now wonder if you can have a bit?

I'd try it when you know you can stay home!

Yes, I am wanting to incorporate it back it. Not often....maybe one cup every other day? But then I may want more.

I am wanting to try Simply Smooth Decaf simply smooth I actually bought some and had a cup....and it tasted so good.

I still have symptoms despite being restrictive EFI for years...So, I figure, I might as well have things I like and have the symptoms. FEAR is that symptoms will get even worse. I only need my heating pad every 2 or 3 days instead of every night...but that may be due to me eating Gluten free also. So, I may stay GF and start "testing the waters". Coffee does not make me have D ..... and I am a chronic C...but I have read that coffee can cause spasms which might make me more C. Then, I also have pain and major bloat.

Anyhow, I want to be able to drink this so very badly. I'm tired of missing out on so many little pleasures. I can't do the subs for coffee because they either contain gluten, soy, or inulin...all of which off limits for me.

I never thought it might cause bloating.

I have had it up to my eyeballs with herbal tea and water as my only options. I'm not into rice milk.

I figure this coffee would be better than soda with all the carbonation and gas. Plus, I miss coffee more!

No symptoms here BUT I have cut out my afternoon cup because for some reason that one went right through me. I've switched to a cup of Peppermint tea in the afternoon. If you're feeling brave, give it a whirl but like the others suggested, try it when you know you'll be at home! Good luck and let us know!

I still drink 2 cups in the morning. I used to drink 3 in a.m. and then a coffee drink in the p.m. so 2 is an adjustment. I LOVE coffee too. I do drink coffee with soy milk and real sugar rather than creamer/dairy and Splenda. I am not doing so well though so I will probably have to cut coffee out or try the 1/2 caff. 1/2 decaf brand and see if the small amount is okay. I don't wanna (temper tantrum breaks out!!!).

Very nervous. Probably will have some today as I am feeling "sick" of dietary restrictions today.

So, you cut down to one cup total or two? I wish it would help things "go through" me!

Ginger Tea has a nice bite to it and is great with a non dairy creamer of your choice. To sweeten, I add agave nectar or use natural sugar in the raw. Ginger is great for digestion.
