Fructans are long chains of fructose sugar molecules. Inulin, the SF in Fibersure, is a fructan. FOS is another one. These SFs can come from a variety of sources including chicory and Jerusalem artichokes. Some IBS suffers have difficulties with fructans. They can cause bloating, gas and D. For example, See Heather's message which says "If you're at all prone to bloating or gas (and many folks with IBS are), please avoid both psyllium and inulin (the main ingredients in Metamucil, Konsyl, Fybogel, Fibersure, and FiberChoice), which can seriously worsen these problems in some people with IBS."
If you try the GoodBelly probiotic you may wish to do so cautiously
