I don't remember what Heather said about peas. Are they IFiber or Soluble Fiber? I keep remembering that my mom always said that peas give you gas. I haven't tried them since I got IBS and wondering if anyone eats them and if you do, how do you eat them... Do you mash them first?
Thanks

Hmm, not sure... I would think they're IF because of the skin around each little pea. I think they're similar to corn in this way. But that's just my thinking.

Thanks. If they're similar to corn then I cannot eat them. Corn makes me terribly bloated. But I've been eating beans ok lately... Hm..

Peas are fine if they're cooked and mashed up a bit.

Peas are both IF and SF - the skin outside is IF, and the mushy inside is SF - just like beans.
I can eat peas if I keep it to small amounts at a time. I usually mix them with rice. Ironically I seem to be able to tolerate beans much better than peas.

I buy the Bird's Eye Steam Fresh peas and eat them with no problem. As with all or most veggies, I eat them last.

I'm the same way, or I was the last time I tried them. (I never really liked peas anyway.)
Green beans, on the other hand, are completely tolerable...so long as they aren't over-cooked. My stomach doesn't rebel to over-cooked green beans, but my tastebuds sure do.
