So I'm on this new quest for medication of some sort and my doctor just suggested Benefiber. I've usually got pretty bad constipation and gas, especially the gas. Anyone have any experience or words of wisdom as to whether this is worth a shot??

If you are in the US where Benefiber contains Wheat Dextrin then I would give it a try. In Canada they use a different SF which I find produces lost of gas. I wish they would use the same SF here. If you do try it please tell us how it works for you.

No, do not take it for IBS.
One of the ingredients is sucralose, which is another name for Splenda.
Splenda will aggravate IBS symptoms.

The plain powder type does not contain sucralose. Only the sugar-free chewable tablets.
