Is it true that this is what causes IBS??

This guy seems to think that bacteria is the cause of IBS. Is this true? I get the feeling that to get this test in my country would be EXTREMELY expensive and I don't know if it's right or not. I haven't read this guys' book (link below) but have any of you investigated this theory?

If you search the board for SIBO (small intesting bacteria overgrowth) you will find a many of posting. SIBO occurs in a small percentage of IBS suffers. It is not accepted as a generally theory for the cause of IBS.
