Hi peeps! It's been a LONG time since I posted on here. The bad news is I'm doing it because my symptoms are back with a vengence. Question...I got some of Heather's Acacia powder, but I'm finding it doesn't mix well with water. At least, not as well as Citrucel which is what I was using for fiber. Just curious what you people mix it with that makes it dissolve well. Juice? Tea? Thx!

I have no problems mixing mine with water as long as I pour the water first, then gradually sprinkle in the powder while I'm stirring. Otherwise it just goes all clumpy.

I find that I get better results if I mix it with my food. Otherwise I mix it with hot tea. I find using a spoon works way better than a fork, too.

I don't mix mine with water because I can kind of taste it. But to mix it well put it in a glass or cup and add just enough liquid to make a thick paste and stir until the lumps are gone then add the rest of the liquid. No clumps!
-------------------- IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

I put the acacia in the cup then slowly add the hot water for tea stirring with a fork or small wisk. It dissolves after a few swirls and then I put in my tea bag. I also sprinkle on hot cereal or room temp applesauce if I can't get to hot water. Acacia is much nicer to my tummy than Citracel. Good luck to you.
