i have to cut out dairy, eggs, gluten and soy from my diet. I was 160 lbs before i developed IBS and now I'm 146. I really wanna get up to at least 155 but with my diet being the way it is I feel like its impossible. also, im about to possibly take a job that requires a lot of travel and will need quick meals or drinks that will give me enough calories. does anyone have suggestions? are there weight gain drinks for people w/ sensitive digestion? thanks

I saw rice protein powder the other day - I remembered thinking, hmmm, there's a protein powder I might actually be able to put in smoothies, but I was in such a rush I didn't stop to look at the can. It was at Wal-Mart. It might be safe... ?

Jason,

I'm not sure how stable you are now, but once you are stable, you'll be able to put on weight, even on a limited diet. I lost 20 pounds when my IBS was at its worst, b/c everything I ate made me sick. Once I started Heather's diet, even though the food I was eating was lower fat, I could eat more and wasn't losing it all through diarrea. I gained back the 20 pounds over a two year period. Also, once you are more stable, you can work out and lift weights, which should help you put on muscle weight.

Good Luck.
