I have no support from dh nor family and noone undestands that what happens when I eat normal food and dh fills himself with the icecream and cookies and junkfood as I am gluten and dairy free makes it hard but not to temptation tho . my family think I will die becasue I dont eat properly and it led into a spat and now not talkin to them. not easy and to find food here is hard not much selection.. have to go to the city which is 30 mins from here so now nutritionist offered to pick up stuff for me which is good. I am trying hard with this and not easy when everyone does not understand..I cant tolerate much veggies either got d alot and now bloated and takin a probiotic and lots of tea and water . was drinking crystal lite but looked on here and it can cause bloating so going to stick to tea and water and my almond milk for now .but bowels are alot better when I eat right and watch what I eat and mother thinks I need antidepressents then maybe I will be bale to eat everything I just got off of prednisone and quit cold turkey 3 weeks ago. still battling with the side effects of the pills .

I am sorry, it is so hard to read your writing. Are you using an online dictionary?

So sorry you are not getting the support you deserve. Your family will come around once you start feeling better. Just keep taking care of yourself and not worry about what they are thinking. This is your health and your body. I assure you that it does get much easier. The first few months I would cry a lot just thinking about what I was giving up. I finally realized that it was all worth it just to feel better and have a better quality of life. We're here for you! Lots of Hugs!!!

hi laurie, I'm so sorry you get no support from your family. However, you have to realize that you are the most important person. In the end it doesn't matter what other people think because you will be the one ending up sick it you eat something you're not supposed to. Be strong and stick to the diet. You will get better and that's really what matters.
Maybe your family isn't educated enough about IBS. Would it help if you showed them this website and explained that the food here is very nutritious and you are not going to die from eating it?
I hope you feel better soon! Hugs!

Hi Laurie, hopefully things will start to get better. I would definitely point your DH to the website and have him read what it is that you're going through. If he cares, he'll read. Same thing with the family. Also, folks have to understand that it's just not worth suffering the consequences by eating "just a bite" of something that's not safe.

Also, know that you're not alone. We're all here to listen and support each other and all we can do is just keep on keeping on.
