o to follow up with those of you who read my post that I was going to go to a new GI because my gas and constipation has gotten way way worse in the last few months.
Basically he just old me that he wants to see the notes from my 1st colonoscopy( where they found and removed 4 polyps- 6 years ago) and then he'll determine if he wants to do another one
then he asked me to go get some blood work done tomorrow morning. He said he's going to check all the normal stuff they look at in blood work, and my thyroid( since I am gaining weight with no explanation) and then he's going to do a Celiac test. So guess I just have to wait and see what my blood tells us.....and then what he says after the review of my past colonoscopy.
I asked him about SIBO and he said usually you see weight loss with SIBO and that its very rare that I would have it unless I have been on A LOT of anit-biotics( which I haven't)
Any other advice as far as what I should ask him to check for? His advice was eat a high-fiber diet, lots of water, workout and try not to stress.....DUH buddy ! is what I wanted to say
Also he told me that Zelnorm was taken off the market b/c of heart problems in patients taking it( didnt work for me when i tried it but thought that was interesting) and he also said that there isnt really anything coming down the pipe as far as new stuff for IBS sufferers (what a ray of hope he was huh?!?)
anyway any advice to ask him to check or really anything would be great. I am IBS C with tons of bloating and gas
Thanks!!!!

I too have IBS-C with bloating and gas. Have you tried Amitiza? I had great success with Zelnorm before, but since that's not available my doc put me on Amitiza. I've been on it for about 3 weeks and feel really good. It does cause nausea for about an hour after you take it, but for me, that's way better than my IBS symptoms. Just a thought of something to try since its working for me!

Is it possible you have a yeast overgrowth? The symptoms you have align with those of candida. If so, you will have to starve the fungus. Yeast causes bread to rise, doesn't it?
