Well I am IBS-D and have been doing much better with the D episodes since taking acacia and following the diet. I backed off a bit of the acacia since I believe it was constipating me (just couple days ago went from 1 1/4 tsp daily to 1 tsp daily).
My main symptom is abdominal pain now. I don't really recall it being a problem until the past couple of months...lately it seems more chronic.
What causes this? Any suggestions to make it subside? For those of you who are stable, does it come and go...or is it gone for the most part.
Honestly, it makes me not want to eat, and makes me just feel unwell.
Thanks for the advice!

I find when I get lasting, chronic, dull abdomen pain- which used to be every day before I found this site, but now only when I trip up and get excited and eat something without SF base - I need to do BTC diet for a couple of days and it will subside. But I'm a C so I'm pretty quick to incorporate IF into BTC as soon as possible. But chronic abdomen pain sucks mate, definitely, and always makes me feel very scared to eat anything even vaguely interesting or flavoursome.

You should try some peppermint tea. I think it works better than a prescription like Levbid! I get a lot of pain from soy milk. Keep a log and track what you eat to make sure. Also, be careful not to overeat.

Have you had gall bladder out? If so ask dr about questran. That and caltrate along with the peppermint capsules and a lot of peppermint tea seems to have solved my diarrhea and pain. Oh I also switched from dairy to soy products and stopped all soda.
