My daughter's doctor prescribed this if she is getting pain. She has IBS-D and a parasite infectionin her GI. She is on Flagyl and is having pain while eating and heartburn after. She laready is on Nexium and Zantac.

Hyoscyamine, if I'm not mistaken, is also known as Levsin & Levbid. It will calm the spasms. It also made me very, very tired.

Hycosamine helped me a little for the pain, but gave me blurred vision. Apparently that's one of the side effects...and not a good one to have. I would suggest using it ONLY when she needs it, not an everyday dose. Maybe that will help.
