I have extreme nausea, especially in the morning. I also have no desire to eat anything. The thought of food makes me feel sick, and if I do eat it usually makes me feel worse.
A couple months ago my doctor told me I probably have IBS, but until a few weeks ago I was relatively fine so I did not worry about it.
I have all the classic IBS symptoms, but I am wondering about the extreme nausea. Is that something that could be associated with IBS, or should I go back to my doctor and try to get into a specialist? The IBS diet has made me feel better but the nausea just will not go away.
Any help or opinions would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Joanne

I've had the same problem since I was a young boy, only in recent years have I developed the classic IBS symptoms. When I was six (1968) the pediatrician directed my mother to give me carbonated beverages to relieve the nausea and to skip breakfast. It worked. However, Ive much more recently substituted IBS teas for the carbonated beverages and added a pre-bedtime snack and now I can actually tolerate breakfast. I'm very much still in the experimental stages but Ginger Root tea is my current front runner. Hopefully this helps and I also would be very interested in a better way to handle this problem.

cut out the caffinated beverages, I found that helped quite a bit with my nasea. Also, give ginger tea a try. It works well for me & I consider myself The Queen of nasea!! (ha ha)

I right there with you. That is why I am out here doing my homework. I have not had an episode like this in about 4 years. This site is very helpful, read all the information you can on it. Stress and food are my triggers, so I need to do some major adjustments. Try eating some rice to settle your stomach. Peppermint will also help with the nausea. I wish you luck.

Are you getting enough MAGNESIUM? Sometimes cutting out / or decreasing high INsoluble fiber foods means not getting enough magnesium. Your symptoms sound typical of this. Nuts, seeds, whole grains - all high in magnesium. RDA for women 18+ age is about 300-400mgs. Be sure to include some healthy high magnesium foods into your diet / after SAFE IBS foods of course. You are doing that right?

That could very well be, I have just started following this diet about a week ago, so I am still trying to balance everything out. I will give that a try. Thanks!
