In my entire life I have never had stomach flu. I still don't think I had it but this is what happened to me last night:
First of all Tuesday am I was digging in my garden sprays and got nauseous. Nothing happened but I came in and pooped and rested and came around. Then last night right before bed I felt nauesated again. I took two pep caps and tried to sleep. I really didn't have any gurgles but high nausea and low pain too. Anyway I threw up dinner in 6-7 seperate barf sessions about 15 minutes apart all night. I never had grumbles or diarrhea but I did have fever/chills and tremendous weakness. Then after the 3rd time I started to have spots of blood in the vomit. I worried I had an ulcer and we talked about going to the ER if it didn't stop. DH had no problems and had eaten the same meal (which I will not eat again for a long time!). Eventually I pooped but not D and the puking stopped when my stomach was emptied. Today I was sore and very weak but no more nausea. The pep caps made my puke very pepperminty which was strange and my throat was so sore! I have never had anything like this before and an ulcer still can't be ruled out. I understand they don't always hurt until after other symptoms. Oh man I never want this again!

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

Maybe you had one of those 24 hour bug type of things? Glad you're feeling better.

Minnie, I have gastritis and severe GERD along with my IBS and frequently have throwing up episodes. I have thrown up so much and ended up with flecks of blood but my dcotor told me that what was happening was that I was rupturing blood vessels in my throat and nose and that was where the blood was coming from. It was entirely harmless. I just got over a bout of ulcers, my third, and I can say that personally I know when I have them since the pain is so severe and the burning, reflux is bad. But I would call my doctor since they do need to know about anything like this.
