well, i know about this list, and i have Heather's books too, but i was hoping there was somehow a safe solution to eating IF foods. to tell the truth, even though i eat in small quantities as recommended, i don't know how to accomplsh adding IF into a small meal of SF. my fear is that the more i eat, the more will build up inside me and make me go more often. they say to eat at least 5 to 6 small meals a day, plus small snacks. i find it hard to do that, since i can't stop pain completely with just SF. so you can imagine how i feel about adding IF. unless something else is wrong, which i will find out with a colonscopy. i've had an endoscopy and a catscan, but nothing was found, except an insignificant thickening of the stomach. perhaps my pain is inflammation of the intestine, which seems recently to have just let up after taking Donnatal for a month. (its supposed to treat inflamm. of the intest.) i wish i could add more to what i'm eating, but i can't identify what may hurt me if i never feel completely normal.

I think you should decrease your fibre supplement to 1/4 tsp. 2 or 3 times a day. I think you started with too much, and increased it too fast.

i think you're right, and although i took 1/2 teaspoon this morning, after 6 hours i lowered it to the 1/4 teaspoon. i'll take that 3 times daily. maybe my upset will improve. only time will tell. thank you for letting me know about the 1/4. i appreciate it!
