I have looked at Walmart, Kmart, Target...is this something I can only get at a kitchen store? I don't have a lot of money to spend on one.

Thanks...

Well, they used to be pretty common but they don't seem to be anymore, do they? I did find some at Target.com:

so maybe Target would carry some in their stores, too. You could also check garage sales if you're into that kind of thing.

What did you want to use one for? Maybe there's another way.

I don't have one either. I just use a small pot and a slightly larger glass bowl, one that just sits in the pot without touching the water. If you'd rather have a double boiler you should be able to get one at Bed Bath and Beyond, Kohls, or online at amazon.com or overstock.com.

Thanks for your replies. I just wanted to get one to make some of the pudding recipes I've seen on the boards, as well as the chocolate pudding recipe in Heather's cookbook. I don't have a Target near me but there is a Kohl's. Also, I never thought of using a glass bowl - may give that a try.

Thanks again

The chocolate pudding recipe in Heather's cookbook is to die for. I see the cooks on the Food Network using a glass bowl in a saucepan as a double boiler so give it a try. Just be careful not to burn yourself. And enjoy the pudding!
