I have just recently started the ibs diet. i told my mom i cannot eat beef, only white meat, chicken and turkey. She made me some soup and i thought it was with turkey. Then after I already ate it she told me she used ground pork in it!!! Am I in trouble?

you are in trouble if you've had any reaction to it. if you have not, you're lucky. whether you did or not, don't eat pork, as it is high in fat. always ask your mom what is in something, and check carefully with packaged foods. generally, we who suffer from ibs can't tolerate red meat as it is a big trigger. white meats like turkey, skinless chicken, and the like are pretty safe as you know, and as Heather suggests, try to buy organic. if you don't have her books, check them out for receipes and safe lists. don't forget to have a largely soluble fiber diet!
