Please help me figure out some easy ways to add IF. I'm adding acacia into my diet starting today, and I want to be sure to balance it out with IF.

I put frozen strawberries into my smoothie.

I eat cucumber/grapes, etc. with the peel on.

What else can I do.

Example: I'm about to have a turkey sandwich. I'll be taking acacia first. I normally put a slice of tomato on the sandwich. Anything else I can do to add more IF? I think it could help me avoid bloating.

Please help! I need advice from those of you who have figured more of this out than me.

You can also use whole grain breads and cereals. Be careful to increase your IF slowly. For example, make a sandwich with one slice white and one slice brown bread and see how it works.

This time of year, it's so easy! Add a small slice of lettuce to your turkey sandwich or a thin slice of tomato. Good ideas! Also, any fruit that you want - keep the portion small, and always with soluble fibre. A small apple, a few grapes, mangoes, cherries, any fruit you like in a small portion is good. For veggies, almost all have some insoluble with the exception of cooked potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, etc. Steam some broccoli, cauliflour, peas, corn, .... Just remember to keep your portions small, and always with SF.

I put dried fruit in hot cereal, and have a luna bar, banana and orange for one snack, then a banana and pineapple for another. I eat cooked veggies with dinner and sometimes lunch. I also eat some IF cereals after SF.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
