Pages: 1 Advil Effect?       #307385 - 05/15/07 10:57 PM Edit Reply Quote Calli66 Reged: 04/11/07 Posts: 124 Loc: New Mexico USA I notice that days when I take a fair amount of Advil for headache or muscular pain (like 4-6 pills a day), that it seems to "calm down" my IBS symptoms, and helps with C. Has anybody else noticed this? I wonder why this is. I don't think it would be good to use it for this purpose, but have noticed the effect. Heh... I have the opposite problem. Actually, it doesn't do anything IBS-wise, but the last time I took a good amount of Advil, I ended up throwing up all the next morning. Blech. Because Advil is so harsh on the stomach - I've known people with severe stomach ulcers because of long-term ibuprofen use - I wouldn't recommend it for IBS symptoms, just because you're likely to cause worse long-term problems with it.
