Pages: 1 what type of doctor?       #307253 - 05/14/07 05:48 PM Edit Reply Quote EmilyM Reged: 05/13/07 Posts: 53 Loc: Chicago, IL I am assuming I have IBS because nothing else seems to make sense, but I know I need to go to a doctor to have other problems ruled out. I have an appointment with an endocrinologist later in the summer for my PCOS, but I don't know how much that would help (unless these are side effects from Metformin, not IBS). I am a student and I can go to the student health center for free, I'm just not sure how good they are with diagnosing things other than the basic cold, etc. Should I try to find a general practicioner? I saw a gastroenternologist about 4 years ago, and he didn't find anything wrong then, but I'm guessing serious problems could potentially develop in that time span. Thanks!
