I thought that was one of the symptoms it was supposed to relieve! I have IBS-D but have never really had a problem with gas. But today, after having started the diet in the afternoon yesterday, I'm feelling really gross and bloated and am having gas issues. Is this common? Is there anything I can do? I feel bad b/c it makes me want to be in a completely different room from my husband, and I don't want to feel like I'm ignorning him. (Sorry, that last part isn't really relevant).

Uggh this is such a weird feeling! I can tell that I'm hungry but I don't feel like eating because I feel so bloated. Any ideas for a quick dinner?

Have you done the BTC diet?
If you're not on BTC, how about some home made chicken and rice soup?

I'm trying to do the BTC right now. That sounds good - maybe I'll do that for lunch tomorrow. Thanks!

I think what you're experiencing is an increase in gas because you're also increasing the amount of fiber you eat. It usually takes 1-2 weeks for your digestive system to adjust to the increase in fiber. Drinking some peppermint, chamomile, or fennel tea after meals is recommended in order to alleviate the bloat and discomfort and maybe even reduce gas. The teas don't taste that great, but they are soothing!

Since you're on BTC, how about a banana, or rice, applesauce, or toast? Be careful with store or restaurant bought soups because they tend to have a lot of fat.

Thanks! I bought some peppermint tea today, and this reminds me that I wanted to drink some before i go to bed. Do you know of any OTC medications (like maybe Gas-ex) that I can take with me to school?
