Pears - mostly SF?

I love pears cooked and mashed, mixed in my oatmeal porridge for breakfast. Eaten this way, they don't bother me at all. If peeled, cooked and mashed, do they qualify as mostly SF? On the website, they are listed as IF, but it adds that they are much safer peeled. They certainly seem like SF, in that they are easily mashed. If they are mostly SF, I would probably need to add an IF fruit too, as I am IBS-C.

My sense is that the skin is pure IF, the inner part is pure SF. I eat them a lot too. I find it interesting that they'd be listed as a primarily IF food.

There is slightly more IF than SF in pear with or without skins.

Do you eat the skin? Wouldn't it help if you have IBS-C?

Thanks for the replies - interesting that there is slightly more IF in the flesh, although I suppose even mashed they are more 'fibrous' in texture than apples.

Jordy - no, I don't eat the skins, though I suppose I could. I don't really like the texture. I tend to add a few(cooked) blueberries if I want to add IF to apple. I could try this with the peeled pear. I am still struggling to get the IF/SF balance right in my meals. Too little and I get C; too much, I get pain, gas and cramps - although often still C!!
