I came here several months ago and read about some of you using the Walgreen's brand of Benefiber. I had been using stuff like Benefiber before I read that. I went to Walgreen's and purchased the stuff you were talking about. It was like a miracle and worked wonderful, pretty much within a few days. "Things" were regular and comfortable. I'm not really constipated, but tend not to go very often. This stuff seemed to make me go more often. Now it's been probably 5-6 months since I started it. There has been a lot of stress in my life in the last few months with the death of my mother, end of the year school activities (I have a senior), and other stuff. Anyway, it seems to not be working anymore. I read here that with IBS you kind of tend to try something and it will work for a while and then quit, so you have to try something else. My question is do you think that the stress I have had has made it not work so well for me now? Do you think if I just upped the dose more that would work? Or, what's next for me? What should I try next? Something to "compliment" Walgreen's fiber or what? Sorry for all the questions! Any help is greatly appreciated!

Have you tried Acacia yet? Like anything else it is worth a try and it's gentle. I like it as it doesn't have any other "junk" like food coloring or flavors and such. I've even put it on my salads, pasta or in my tea. It's very easy to use.

Stress is a big IBS factor and it is probably causing you problems. From what you've said I think you are a C, and you are feeling even more C now? Is that correct? If that's the case, have you tried adding a little more IF to your diet? Are you experiencing any pain?

Yes, I'm a C and I am definitely feeling a little more C lately. Lots of bloating and just a feeling of being full of you-know-what. My clothes are tight around the waist and that is so annoying. I upped my IF a little and I guess I could go up more, but I didn't want to do anything too different since I'm having so much trouble. Fennel tea works some of the time, but not always.
