I have been having cramps in the LLQ these past two days. All I can think of that I have been eating differetly is ice cream. Cramps and constipation. Is this a sign of lactose intolerance? Can anyone relate? Thanks for the help.

Dairy is hard for most IBSers to digest, whether or not they're lactose intolerant. The proteins (like whey and casein) and fat contect cause problems. That's why Heather suggests to eliminate all dairy from your diet. (See Eating for IBS FAQs on main site.)

Hi, you might want to read the Diet guidlines. . Stay away from dairy and other triggers. Good luck.

Hi, Unless u have the lactose intolerant test u can't really know. It's not a real fun test either if u truly r lact intolerant. I'm IBS-d mostly, the same as others, if I touch ice cream it's horrible cramps and the rest of the day "down the hall". Forget cheese. Think Heather is right to jnust eliminate dairy or use soy instead... gud luck Sj
