I just want to vent for a second. I am SO frustrated at my co-workers! They do not understand IBS. They keep trying to pressure me to eat somthing I can not eat. The thing that really pisses me off is that when they provide breakfast or lunch, they never have a choice I can have. I have suggested a healthy and safe alternative and they laugh at me. I am so tired of being left out. I think that besides the pain and inconviencing to myself of having to deal with IBS, they scrutany and misunderstanding from other people along with insensitivity makes me so upset. Please respond.

hi, I just wanted to let you know I totally feel your pain,I worked at starbucks for awhile when I first got Ibs, I was very knowlegable about all the stuff I couldn't have, and could drink the tea all day long, but the preasure from coworkers to try latte of the day, week, month, or over sugaury artificial snack something was really frustrating, the difference in my envirenment it made sense, yours just sounds insensitive. My family is also all from the deep fried south, so they don't understand, and think I can have a little of some insane trigger food, because they made it with slightly less butter than normal. My coping mechanism has been to cook for myself the night before something super yummy looking, like the Ibs desserts, or some fancy breakfast, and eat it in front of them, sometimes it looks so good they ask for the recipie, and then poof one thing I can eat is at times included in family meals. good luck and keep your chin up!
