Don't those have artificial sweeteners in them? I know the chewable ones do.

No, the capsules do not, but the chewable do. Believe me, artificial ingrediants give me D like non other, so much that I almost feel like I am going to pass out. So, the Benefiber caps don't. I hope this helps

Yes, they make it bulky and slippy so you just have to easily push..it is very natural and doesn't hurt. I had up to 10 a day for a while and they work so well I am only on 2 in the morning and 3 at night..and if I miss a day, my body is regular that it can handle one day off (sometimes I totally forget) and I am okay. Do not double dose though if you forget..just go back to your normal routine.

I think the Dextrin is the new formula. I still have some from the old formula (guar gum). We bought it like it was going out of style when I found out there was a new formula coming out.

No, having a BM every three days is in the normal range (which is 3 times a day to every three days). I wouldn't worry about it unless you're having painful or difficult BMs, then I'd recommend taking a soluble fiber supplement.

Really? I didn't know this! Thank you Maria for clearing things up. I had a lot of trouble with it hurting when I was a kid and didn't go for a long time and then it is a problem -

actually its CVS brand (a bit cheaper) but has maldextrin and guar gum. i noticed that its causing uncomfortable bloating and gas - is this normal? should i always take it with food or on an empty stomach? 6 tablespoons a day seems excessive

You have to go by the grams of fibre you get in a tablespoon. for example Benefibre has 3 grams of fiber per tablespoon, but Acacia has 6 grams of fibre per tablespoon.

How long have you been taking the CVS brand and at what dose did you start at? If you start at a high dose, you will get gas, bloating, and pain.

I take mine after I have eaten soluble fiber. For instance, I take it in the morning after my oatmeal and then at night before dinner but after my sf bread that I have before dinner. If it is causing you bad inside feelings, maybe try four tablespoons. I do the capsules, maybe this would be better for you? Just work with your body and find what you need. All my best,
