making chilli for the first time,need help!

Ok in my chilli there is chicken breasts,red kidney beans,green pepper,tomatoes,zuchinni,onions,and of course the regular spices.So if I eat this with some french bread will I be safe?Thanks in advance,if this turns out good I'll post it(it was in the newest chatelaine mag and the pic looked awesome!)Please reply soon cause it's almost done.

Take digestive enzymes beforehand (like Beano), and cushion it with a SF like sourdough, french bread or white rice. You might want to puree some of the beans so they're easier to digest. Good luck!

I do not have beano but I will eat it with lots of bread or rice.Will I be ok if I don't take beano?

If you are IBS-C you maybe ok. If you are IBS-D then be prepared for the worse

I would be fine with your chili except for the green peppers - those I would pick out as I ate - but that's an individual thing. The beans might make you gassy although they don't bother me.

Definitely eat it with some white bread (French, Italian) or you can have it over rice - that's really good. If you're nervous, try a lot of rice with just a little chili and see how you do.

Please do post the recipe if it turns out good - the zucchini sounds like an interesting touch.

My take on the chilli new

I am mostly D and sometimes C. I am reasonably stable but not pain free.

The items in your chilli that I could eat are chicken breast, zuchinni (peeled) and some spices. If I made chilli I would use tomato paste instead of tomatoes. During a very stable period I might add some pre-well-boiled green beans and I would include carrots too. I would eat a 1/4-1/2 cup serving with 1/2 cup aged basmati rice (white).

I cannot handle green pepper, tomatoes or onions. And I have to be very careful of the amount of spice I put in my food. I am quite sensitive to the amount of IF I ingest. In order to remain stable I have to keep my IF very low and my SF quite high. Peppers, onions and spices have too much IF in them for me no matter how fine they are chopped or ground.

Everyone is different. If you can handle foods with high amounts of insoluble fibre then go for it and enjoy.

Hi Sarah,
You chili sounds great, but it has some scarey foods that may give you problems. I cannot do green pepper, kidney beans, too much onion, or garlic. I always make low-fat cornbread (Heather's recipe), and I don't eat a lot of chili. I hope it works out!
