First, some necessary things for IBS-Cers:
* SF supplement - Acacia * Daily exercise and lots of water
I can give you a sample menu...
Breakfast: smoothie with rice milk, strawberries, banana, peaches, rice protein powder.
Snack: Cream of rice cereal
Lunch: veggie curry with rice
Snack: Guiltless Gourmet chips with artichoke hummus
Dinner: roasted veggie ravioli with garden vegetable tomato sauce.
I didn't start out eating a whole lot of IF, but I'm slowly increasing that and my Acacia, and I'm even starting to add in some whole grains. I take GasStop (2 pills) or Beano (4 pills) before any meal containing veggies, beans, or whole grains. I used to puree EVERYTHING before eating it, which meant lots of soups and sauces. Frozen veggies is a quick and easy way to go because you can try one at a time and see how each one affects you.
HTH!

Do you find the rice protein powder chalky in your smoothie - I take it that soy does not agree with you - so you take 4 beano or gas stop before most meals? I took beano with broccoli and it did not stop the attack?

I don't really notice the chalkiness... maybe a little, but it's not bothersome to me. I do okay with soy, but I prefer to limit it and use rice alternatives if I can. Too much of it (especially first thing in the morning) causes me problems. The only meal I don't take GasStop with is breakfast; don't need to! But I take it before my other meals and some snacks.
I'm not brave enough to try broccoli again yet. I tried it a few months ago and my intestines did not like it! I don't dare eat more than one or two bites of it.

How many GasStop do you take with a meal or a snack? Do you take beano in addition to this? If so, how much?
Have you ever considered taking a digestive enzyme instead? Or are the veggies the main culprit?

I tried a few digestive enzymes and didn't notice them doing much of anything. I found that 4 Beano works well, as does 2 GasStop pills. I don't take them together. So far this week, I've only been taking GasStop. Trying to decide if I like it better than Beano.
I've proven to myself how well the Beano-type pills really work. One day at work I realized I had forgotten to refill my Beano bottle - and I had chili for lunch!! I was pretty stinky by dinner time!!
