If you don't eat at regular intervals, what symptoms do you get? Gas? Bloating? D or C? Rumbly tummy?

For me, if I don't eat regularly, I tend to binge later on. Overeating causes me to have gas and bloating. Your tummy needs room to actually digest what you've put in it!

Me, I get light headed and wanna have a nap, then I usually get D as soon as I eat something. And I get very, very, very cranky - the DH will vouch for this! I tend to eat 5 or 6 times a day instead of 3 large meals. If you saw my portion size you'd laugh and ask where the toddler was to eat it! But it works for me.

I did this accidentally a few weeks ago when I forgot my snacks and ran errands. By the time I got home I was almost bent over in pain and I was bloated. I ate something safe and felt better within 30 minutes. I always keep bars/bananas with me to prevent that pain.

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

Well, now that I'm stable, I just get light-headed and cranky if I don't eat often enough.
Before I was stable, my tum went into attack mode...rumbly, intestinal dance, felt like I had to go even if I knew there was nothing in there. This is why for over a year I always had a snack with me even if I was only going to be out for a couple hours.

I usually get bloated. Sometimes I'll get C followed by D.

I get lightheaded and very very cranky lol. also cramps and d, rumbly tummy... depending on how long i go without eating i'll actually STOP feeling hungry, and by that time I KNOW that if i dont eat soon i'll pass out or something. not fun LOL. i eat probably 5-6 meals and 3-4 snacks a day.

If I don't eat frequently, I actually notice upper GI symptoms first - kind of acidy-feeling stomach - which isn't IBS. But if I'm not eating frequently, chances are good I'm also not eating enough IF, so ultimately, I end up C.

Snorkie's description fits me perfectly. Even though I'm stable, I still carry a little ziploc of pretzels with me when I know I'll be gone for a while.
