I have been on the diet only a few days yet, but already i notice improvements.. No more pain (well almost none) and that means more energy to do stuff. I never knew red meat could be a trigger otherwise i would have cut that out of my life long ago (always get pain shortly after eating it, how could i have not noticed..).
I dont recall ever having problems with dairy products tho. I always ate cornflakes with just normal cowmilk and never had pain afterwards. And my gnocchi with bluecheesesause never gave problems too.
Is it just my bowels didnt notice that anymore, because of all the other triggers, or might i be able to just have bits of dairy products in low dosis? Are there others that have this?

hmm, i used 2 have plain live yogurt and didnt seem 2 have a bad effect me but i gave everything up that heather said, as i thought if not i'd only worry it was this or that and i wanted to give it a fair try. i think SOME people might try dairy agen after their STABLE, but its up to the individual, im happy getting my calcium from soy, tofu etc and now i am pretty much normal most days- only days when im bad (ibs-d) is when i deviate from the diet, like last night i hadPMT so ate 1/2 tub soy ice cream and 2 jammy dodgers (uk jam shortbread not ibs safe!) and felt bad this morning- so i think it was combo of binging and the milk in the biscuits that brought it on. id say def try giving it up if you can, at least until your on your way to stability.

Some of us can. If you search the board you will find a number of heated discussion about dairy for example see messages.
It is recommended that dairy like red meat be excluded from your diet until you are stable and then you can experiment with introducing them back in your diet.

Ok, thank you.
Because i wont use much of dairy products but dairyfree products are quite hard to come by here. Especially if you already begin to hate the taste of tofu and soy There are for instance a lot of products to replace red meat that are made with milk, and of course in this cheesecountry, cheese is used a hell of a lot I would of course use it a lot less then i did but i just have trouble completely eliminating (i know, im weak ) it. I already miss mozzerella and parmesan cheese.
Ill go hang on a bit more and see how it goes, my tummy is getting more stable but my mental health is deteriating because im having trouble with all the rules for now. I hope that will be better soon tho

A little bit of dairy is enough to destablize someone who is stable. Just because one or two people can handle milk products, the majority don't. Telling people they can only gives others false hope because many people from the majority desperately try to have milk again, but it's a trigger. Just because you don't get cramps or bloating after eating it doesn't mean it's not affecting you negatively in the long run.
