Has anyone reacted strongly to echinecea? I am getting a cold and for the second time got D an hour after taking the herb. I udes to take this all the time when I was getting sick. I guess I can't anymore. The first time it was liquid (alcohol-based), then second time it was capsules, which I thought would be better. I guess I was wrong .
What about cold meds? Does anyone react badly to those? Maybe that was it. I am so confused.

As odd as this may sound, I was raised w/o medication. I have only taken it when I was in the hospital or sick enough to go to the doctor. I rarely get colds, and when I do, they are pretty minor. I think I have built up a good immunity---which is strengthened by a good diet and moderate amounts of walking.
I recommend eating oranges or drinking OJ -- or simply taking Vit C pills with a meal... it is better to let a cold "heal itself" (i.e. let your body fight it so you develop the antibodies necessary to fight any other colds that might come along...)

This sounds absolutely HEALTHY...and normal...and sane! this is how I plan on living my life from now on! Now that I've taken out medicine and I'm using a humidifier, eating healthy, sleeping lots, and drinking water, and eating very little sugar, I feel good for the first time in MONTHS! Good for your parents!!!
*hugs*

P.S. If it's ok to discuss, what made them raise you this way...very smart!
