Hey everyone!
I am trying to see why I always seem to feel bad when I eat bread..even white. I looked at the back and found that the ingrediats all had high fructose corn syrup in them...does any one have any suggestions?

Did you get tested for coeliac disease (gluten intolerance). Do you get the same way with pasta (pasta from wheat is what I mean).

The HFCS in bread is likely too small a quantity to bother you. What else does the bread contain? Is it a Whole Wheat bread?

Some white breads can have 1.5 to 2 grams of HFCS per slice. I am fructose sensitive. I cannot eat foods with this much fructose.

Well, it is not whole wheat bread, and I am going in for two scopes soon. It is almost everything I eat...so, thank you for your support!

I make my own bread and I don't purchase anything with HFCS. Also, since I am very sensitive to fructose I have to be careful about the fruits I eat. If you enter the following into Google you will get a few hundred links to posting about fructose and HFCS on this message board.

fructose OR hfcs site:helpforibs.com

Good luck with your scopes

Heather has written an excellent set of guidelines for breaking the cycle of IBS. They are located on this web page In particular pay attention to the section called "How can I break the cycle of attacks?". It is very important.

Most white bread purchased from a bakery will not contain HFCS. I own a breadmaker. It is easy. Add the proper amount of flour, water, yeast and salt. Turn it on and 2-3 hours later you have a loaf of bread.

If you have specific questions about the BTC (Breaking the Cycle Guidelines) ask them here.
