Both have been discussed before. I've never used Metamucil, so I can't speak to that subject. I tried Equalactin about 2 years ago. It didn't seem any better or worse for me than Fibercon or generic versions of Fibercon. It is, however, more expensive than Fibercon from my recollection. Your experience may be different.
