I'm kind of scared. Jan 12th I went to my doctor with my normal problems of IBS and possibly the flu he did blood work. Called me up said I was fine. Since seeing him I've lost as of today 26 pounds. That can't be good. I'm following closely the guidelines of what I should be eating. Everything else just makes me sick so why suffer I figure. But I'm thinking that I should buy stock in Pepto or Immodium. lol. I'm so fatigued from losing the weight. Any advise?

This could also be a parasite, or a bacterial overgrowth. Did your doctor run lots of tests, or just the one blood test? That's not enough to rule out all of the other possibilities besides IBS. Check on the main webpage for a list of all the tests that you should have done before settling for the IBS diagnosis.

Can you give us an example of a daily meal plan? What weight should you be given you height, etc? What is your current weight?
It could be that on the EFI diet you are not getting as many calories as you were before

I highly advise/recommend using Imodium if you are experiencing IBS-D. Also, keep a food log to see if you really are eating enough calories to meet your energetic needs.
Are you getting enough physical activity? Muscle weighs more than fat--could you have lost lean muscle mass?
Kate, IBS-D.
