So I fully admit that I should know the answer to this question by now and that it's a bit of a dumb one, but why excatly is popcorn a trigger? I can see it if there is tons of butter added I'm sure that doesn't help but what is it that makes it hard for D people or IBS people in general to digest??

The hulls of the corn are still with the popcorn. They are very harsh...

Popcorn is naturally hard to digest, even in a person with a healthy GI system. I tolerate it in small quantities, but not on an empty stomach.

I don't have a problem with popcorn, in reasonable quantities. But then, high IF foods are not a huge trigger for me when I'm stable (except in the morning). I've worked as much IF as possible in because it's the only thing that helps the C.
