Hi, Does anyone know if Jello vanilla pudding mix is safe to eat if made with rice milk. I called the company and they said there was no dairy in it. It has modified food startch in it and wasn't sure if this is a no-no. Thank you.

I haven't tried to make it since going dairy free and using a milk alternative. I would say if the mix is dairy free you should be okay, just watch the fat content? Let us know how it turns out if you try it, I would be interested. Take Care, Beth

I have a package of Jello pudding mix. I think I will make some with my soy milk. Good idea.

I believe that it is safe. However, I don't know of anyone who has had luck making pudding with either soy or rice milk. It doesn't set up and stays very liquid. Maybe you could drink it?!

DO NOT TRY THIS WITH RICE MILK. It never sets and is utterly disappointing.
Soy milk works in the cooked pudding. I've never tried it in the instant. But if you're going to make cooked pudding, you may want to just make it from scratch and control what's in there. It's not that hard.

Maybe almond milk would work better. It seems to be the thicker than soy and rice.

Its delicious. I put cut up bananas in it and some Go Lean crunch. I used vanilla soymilk and instant french vanilla jello pudding. Yummy!
