Plan of Attack for a Big Event

On Saturday afternoon, I am giving a performance. I will be playing some short solo piano pieces (my own compositions) and accompanying a mezzo-soprano. My tummy is starting to react to the stress and nerves a bit, but I expected that to happen. Here's my plan for making sure my tummy behaves through the dress rehearsal tomorrow and the concert on Saturday:

Go on the BTC diet starting Friday. Since I'm not having actual attacks, I will likely modify this slightly by putting a small amount of jam and/or almond butter on my english muffins, and maybe a tiny bit of dried fruit in my oatmeal.

Do at least a half hour of yoga for relaxation on Friday evening.

Take a peppermint capsule Friday night about a half hour before bed. Take another one before my pre-concert lunch.

Go to bed early on Friday.

Bring Immodium, a bunch of peppermint tea, and a tin of Altoids to the recital venue and consume them as needed.

Drink plenty of peppermint, fennel, and Easy Now tea between now and the recital.

Take all my usual doses of Acacia and Primal Defense.

Suggestions? Anything I'm missing?
Think good tummy thoughts for me.

Congratulations on being able to perform whilst dealing with IBS. As an actress, I know how hard that is.

If I have a big event happening that is upsetting my tummy, I stick to plain oatmeal with a banana on the morning of, and bring mento-mint water to drink. I'll snack on pretzels or something safe between meals because otherwise I tend to eat too late and too fast. I also take an Immodium as a preventative in the morning, rather than wait for the D to kick in.

Break a leg!

The concert on Saturday went extremely well - the singer and I gave a wonderful performance, and my tummy behaved itself.
I wasn't able to take the peppermint caps as I'd planned because it turned out that the rehearsal schedule didn't really allow for proper timing of them. I ended up taking Immodium as a preventative, after my morning bm turned out rather loose (despite my feeling quite calm and collected). It seemed to really do the trick, since there was nary a peep out of my tummy for the rest of the day. I was completely comfortable and had no digestive worries whatsoever during the performance. Yay!
I was also able to relax and enjoy the reception afterwards, and the post-concert social gathering at my friend's house (IBS-safe dinner and dessert and BBC mysteries on DVD).
