I eat between 1/2 to 1 cup dry (I'm fairly loose with my measurements). Depends on how hungry I'm feeling, and whether I'm eating it for lunch or breakfast - I prefer to keep my first meal of the day on the small side.

I just checked my Quaker oatmeal packets and an exact amount isn't listed, but there are 10 packets in a box and the whole box is 12.5 ounces (I guess uncooked). I eat one packet at a meal which with the water or soy/rice milk added comes to probably 3/4 to 1 cup. It sounds like you should be fine. Oatmeal is quite "filling" but just be sure you don't feel "stuffed" after eating that much. Sometimes if I add banana or something, I feel like it's quite a bit and believe me, I looove to eat, especially big helpings.

Half a cup a day, dry, 4-6 days a week for breakfast.

I love my oatmeal. I'm even known to eat it in the summer.

A serving on the box is 1/2 cup dry, before it's cooked... that's the most I ever eat. If I get on one of my completely futile "I'm on a diet" kicks, I eat half that (1/4 cup dry). I add fruit, sometimes sweetener, and soy milk, so 1/2 cup pre-cooking is always plenty.

I don't suppose there's any reason why you couldn't eat more, though, as long as it's not messing with your guts at all.

I have to agree with everyone. I buy organic oatmel from wild oats an the measurment per serving is 1/2 cup dry. If I'm not in a "I have to eat cheerios" mood I usually eat a serving of oatmel for breakfast and then about 1/2 and hour later, I follow with a home made mini muffin or brownie. (I need sugar before I go to work!)
