Hello everyone, I was diagnosed this morning after many test and suffering. So happy to find this web site. I have been ginding up flax seed every morning for years. My doctor said it would be okay to continue and also to eat lots of fresh veggies and whole grains...after reading all the info I am very reluctant to listen to my doctor. Is it okay to continue with my flax seed?

Welcome to the boards, Candlemaker. You will find lots of help here. In answer to your question regarding continuing your flaxseed - I am IBS-C, and I grind up flaxseed everyday and put it in my fruit smoothie. I feel this has helped with my constipation.

Is that all you take for your C, supplement wise?

I do take the acacia powder. I am at 2 tablespoons twice daily. The only other thing I do is put ground flaxseed in with my fruit smoothie. I use to take Miralax every night, but sloooowly over a six month period reduced the dosage until I was able to have a BM without taking it. I also eat lots of IF buffering it with SF, and I exercise by walking everyday.

You take a total of 4 Tablespoons per day? Or one twice a day?

I think it's supposed to be an organic version of grape nuts, but basicly it's flavored flax seeds and it's yummy! I sprinkle it over whatever ceral I'm eating in the morning. It's got the Omega 3 and everything!

Do you think this is better than Oat Bran with Applesauce?
Thanks.

I have never tried Oat Bran with Applesauce. For myself I rely on the ground flaxseed to help with my C. It works for me and I'm afraid to try anything else. It took me a while to get where I am, and I don't want to mess it up by trying other things.
