this recipe is on page 132 of Ibs the first year. I bought some asparagus and need to use it fast before it gets too old, but this recipe calls for a blender, and i don't have one.I need to puree the asparagus..would this ruin the whole recipe if i didn't? oh wait..i need to puree the lemon zest too...i bought the lemons too..What else can i do with this asparagus and lemons i bought since i don't have a blender?

You could always just steam the asparagus (finely chopped)and eat it with a safe SF base like rice or pasta, and maybe squeeze some of the lemon over it, or make a lemon "butter" sauce with some lemon juice and melted Smart Balance Lite or Soy Garden. Oh, and maybe a little fresh ground pepper if that is safe for you.

i don't have Smart Balance Lite or Soy Garden..and i'm not going to the super-wal-mart to see if they have it..could i use some olive or canola oil for anything? to make a sauce...perhaps a little butter, i can take it.

If you can handle butter, that would work great. Not sure how it would be with oil.
