Hi, I am a long time lurker and follower of Heather's Diet. As others have mentioned, bloating, gas and constipation seem to be harder to get under control. I used to be D but since October have suffered terribly from bloating and constipation. The last few days have been heaven. I started eating 5 or six dried dates and five or six dried figs every afternoon. Mornings are now blissful and my stomach is totally flat. I also use FiberSmart and drink tons of water everyday. I hope I'm not going against any rules by mentioning dates and figs, but they are amazing for me. Just wanted to share in case anyone else got some relief. Cheers

I find that figs and dates have too much IF for me. These were two of my favorite treats many years ago. I hope you can continue to enjoy them. Good Luck

I've used dried figs and raisins to alleviate C. However, because of the IF, I have to stay far away from them when I am D.

Given that you were D and then swung to C it sounds like you weren't getting enough IF. Since dates and figs are Insoluble Fiber they sound like a good solution to that problem. They may be too IF-y for some but if they work for you, that's great.
Just keep in mind that according to Heather figs, like rhubard, prunes, and licorice, can act as natural laxatives. (If I remember correctly they naturally contain sorbitol.) So if you do start having problems, I'd reduce the figs first. But unless that happens, dates and figs sound like an easy - and yummy - way to get some serious IF.
