I have been trying to identify a trigger. For the past few months I have found that when I eat a chicken breast sandwich on my homemade sourdough bread sprayed with a small amount of olive oil on which I put 1 tsp of homemade relish I get D within 8-12 hours. If I don't use relish I don't have a problem.

The relish is made from finely diced yellow zucchini and red bell peppers, salt, white sugar, mustard seeds, tumeric and celery seeds. It is cooked for 20 mins and put in canning jars.

Any ideas?

My guess would be the tumeric, but I can't tell you why I think that - lol - that just jumped out at me....

Are the zucchini and pepper cooked?

I take that back - I just read that turmeric is a relative of ginger. I don't think it was the turmeric.

Have you had mustard or celery seeds with success in the past? Are they large seeds?

I used tumeric in many other meals. I am comfortable that it is not a trigger. The peppers and zucchini are cooked in the brine and spices for 20 mins.

The seeds are relatively small but they could be the trigger. I have two suspects - one suspect is the seeds and the other is the skins on the zucchini and red peppers. However, I only use 1 tsp and I make the sandwich with relatively thick slices of my homemade sourdough bread. The relish is accompanied with a fairly good portion of SF.
