The regular GI guys dont have a clue. Has anyone found a list or a Dr. for themselves that have a sub-specialty in IBS. They usually are expert in diseases not syndromes. There has to be someone in NY. I cant seem to find anyone.

I don't know of any doctors who specialize in IBS but you can look through this thread and see if you can find a doctor in your area.

I live in NYC and my doctor has IBS. She understands it sort of but is very careful to give advice, because most things work for only certain people and the general things I already knew from Heather's site...

She did all the tests she needed to do to rule out everything that could look like IBS in order to diagnose me

So... I think I've been blessed with a doctor that at least knows what she is doing. Her office is in Manhattan.

Yes, her name is Kathryn Kirk.

Her office is very close to the 86th St stop of the 4, 5, 6 trains.

No, Manhattan, Upper Manhattan.

86th St at Lexington Ave, Manhattan, NY is the address of the train station. Here it is on the map: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=86th+st+at+lexington+ave,+manhattan,+ny&ie=UTF8&z=15&ll=40.779924,-73.955584&spn=0.016411,0.040555&om=1&iwloc=addr
