Took one last night after dinner had a bad day of pain all day like sharp pain still have it, must be trapped gas..They are suppose to help you with gas, not me I am not normal. Anyone else take them?

Digestive enzymes are supposed to be taken either just before, or with your meals, not after.
What kind did you take? What did you eat?

Oh sorry ate ham plain, sweet potato and string beans that was it all day ..I do a herbalife shake every day at lunch...Unless the skin on the potato did it but I don't think so as its near midnight and I have been in pain all day. Gas x didn't even help, had to take two spasm pills today. Was doing good?

You ate "ham plains"? I don't know if that is a typo or a food I haven't heard of. If it's pork, though, that would've done it for me. I can't have even a couple of bites of ham without getting a horrible D attack. That's one of the worst IBS triggers, and I avoid pork completely.

if you took the twin lab super enzymes, i looked them up the issue might be the ingredients. you seem to have gotten non vegetarian ones which contain pancreatin from animal sources and betain hydrochloric which is basically stomach acid, to a sensitive and unhappy tummy the acid can be very irritating.
i would try some vegetarian ones or ones with ox bile extract, really great ones are by renew life called digestmore or digestmore ultra, take them at the beginning of your meal and go slow, sometimes it takes time for your body to adjust to new things.

Sorry it was a plain piece of honey ham I have eaten it before I really believe it was the enezymens thanks for your help, I need a job just to keep buying all the stuff..
At first I thought it was the skin from the sweet potato but not pain this long. It's big time trapped gas.

I really have to say it would have been the ham. That would have caused me a lot of pain and immediate D attack. Ham is red meat and one of the worst triggers. Until you are stable, cut it out of your diet completely.

Thank you ladies for your help, I feel it is definetely the enezyme, this is the second day in constant pain, living on my spasm pills for a slight relief..

Digestive enzymes killed me too! It was awful. It gave me terrible cramping throughout the day. The cramping had gotten so bad that I had to stay home one day from work because I thought I had the flu except that I was vomiting and nothing was coming out. As soon as I stopped the enzymes I was much better and I will never take them again!!
It's up to you if you want to try another brand and see what happens, but everybody is different and some people swear by the digestive enyzmes, but I sure don't.

Thank you I will never take them again, the probotics were helpying me..I am still in pain from taking one monday night and like a dope one last night. My stomach is constant pain that would quit, I can feel my colon in a knot and my stomach is even burning I am taking the spasm pills and still have pain and knots..No way never again they aren't for me.

The Ham probably did it. Most people with IBS cannot tollerate any pork products.

To stablize you really have to give the diet a good try, and that includes eliminating all triggers including pork. Try it for 2 or 3 months to see how you feel, then introduce back into your diet and see if it affects you in any way. The enzymes might have been a problem too, but the pork is a red flag.

i really would try a plant based one without the acid or even one without protease, some people are sensitive to protease specifically, you could also try beano as it is just one enzyme, the bean and veggie digesting one, that might be safer for you.

It was the enezymes for sure, the ham was plain I have eaten it before with no problems, today the pain is better just have a knot in my left side, and constipation..Working on that, my system is trying to get back to regular. At this point I will stick to heather's fiber and the probotic I found that helped me. No more trial and error.I am back on my herbalife shake and that always helps me.

You are probably having the same reactions that I did with the constant cramping. Once you go off the enzymes give it a couple of days and you'll definitely notice the difference.
