Just wanted to let you all know what I ended up using for my throat.

The hot honey lemon water Sand recommended didn't have a long-lasting effect, but it was SO soothing. I also got Cepacol Sore Throat + Coating lozenges. They contain benzocaine (pain killer) and pectin (coats your throat). They, too, were not super powerful, but they were a nice, soothing remedy.

I wanted to try the slippery elm, but since I'm IBS-D I was hesitant to get the throat teas because most contain the licorice. Instead, I got some slippery elm lozenges from the HFS. They tasted really not-so-good... not disgusting, but not pleasant... and the half of a lozenge I ate didn't make much difference in my throat. Maybe the tea would've been a lot better... I just wasn't ready to try it.

Thanks so much to all of you for your advice!
