I have good luck with generic Benefiber. The Walmart/Sam's Club version is what I have right now.

Metamucil is known to cause bloating and gas in a lot of people, including me.

I take Acacia, and I find it OK. Before that I was taking Fibercon, it is also not gassy.

What are your primary symptoms -- diarhea or constipation? Depending on that will depend how much of what fiber you will need.

Does that cause excess gas and bloating?

Acacia and Benefibre should not cause excess gas and bloating.

Then you'll need some more IF in your diet (once you stabilize)

The deal for me (i am also C) was that I stabilized on no IF, then started adding IF, destabilized a little, but I think it was stress, and I am back to stable again, eating some IF (from food). I also take Acacia to allow me to have the IF.

Btw, if you change your fiber supplement, make sure you don't shock yourself with a huge dose initially.
