I think I have a greater problem than just the IBS.

I posted last week about trying to explain this to my GI doc and getting angry and frustrated. Today I felt hungry then suddenly got nauseated and feeling full and distended but there was no food in my tummy when I actually threw up.

I feel like I am in ????? land. I'll call my Int Med doc Monday or go to the ER if nausea does not stop.
I just do not know who to turn to now.
These odd symptoms started lately.

I get nausea often if I have a bad d attack...I start to sweat or get the chills and feel like I'm going to throw up. But then at other times last year, even absent of an attack, I was feeling like maybe I had an ulcer...I always felt queasy...sometimes on a full stomach...sometimes on an empty stomach. Doc did an endoscopy and found inflammation in my stomach and gastritis (not Gerd like in the Esophagus with heartburn). He put me on Nexium and I just stopped it after about a year and I feel much better (I also cut out coffee and I'm following Heather's diet so it could have been foods that were exacerbating the problem.) Have you had an endoscopy done?

I sometimes get nauseous when I have a bad D attack too but nothing like you're describing. Sometimes when I haven't eaten in a while I get that full feeling but I eat anyway cause I know I need to and it seems to help. I don't feel so nauseous after I eat.

Thanks, No endoscopy.
I went to GI spec again last week (earlier post) tried to tell him I felt ill frequently since food poisoning in July, more freq D days, more sensitive to dairy and all food in general than before and discussed interaction of current meds.
His answers were IT IS IBS over and over, said I could have all the tests in the world and it was only IBS and only an aggravation, Stop Nexium, Celexa, use lactaid w/every meal and ordered tests for parasites and occult blood.

He would not answer any questions I had when I said I had been researching on the web and reading articles (on SSRI antidepressants and IBS) from http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?DB=pubmed
Told me he did not have any more time to talk to me.

I left very angry and so Mon I will get appt with Primary care Phys (Int Med Specialist) and look for new GI Specialist.

The nausea yesterday may have been my waiting too long to eat because I wanted to eat with hubby who was doing Sat errands.
Fri I went back on Nexium due to GERD/heartburn at night. I have been on those meds since NSAID damage in 2000. Hyoscyamine gives me heartburn and it is the antispasmotic I take BID. I have Phenergan for nausea but it was too late by the time I took it. I am waiting on order of tummy teas, peppermint oil and 1st year book from here.

I had been taking lots of my meds less regularly since July and after Wed just stopped Celexa--maybe I am withdrawing from it.

I ate later and was OK. I just want to return to not having major attacks so frequently.
I also want to have confidence in my GI doc. What if I have adhesions from gall bladder surgery or other complications making me so sensitive to so many foods??
