started primal defense...coinciding with frequent BMs??

I've been posting that my BMs have been many these last bunch of days (4-5) but it's not d (thank goodness). On the thread about primal defense plus, it was discussed that sometimes PD could be too strong for someone and and if you're sensitive can cause d at first. Do you think it's possible that the frequent BMs are related to the fact that I just started taking PD (the regular one) about 4 days ago or is it just coincidence? I'm not at all stable so it could be anything but I was just wondering. And if anyone thinks the answer is yes, will it eventually subside and when? thanks

When I first started on PD, it did sort of "clean me out". I experienced urgency and frequency, but not full D. for me, it only lasted about a day, maybe 2. But I was switching from another probiotic and had been on the diet and fiber for about 2.5 months at that point and was already mostly stable, so I'm not sure how long you should give it.

Are you c or d and how much SF supplement do you take? Today I had so many BMs again...same like you said...not D, but kept going. I don't want to give up on the PD but I hope this goes away soon. I'm not even sure if the PD is the reason for it...that's why I posted.

Any probiotic can potentially have that effect in the beginning.

Can you please tell me where you bought PD. I'm just wondering if you have to order it online or if someone has purchased it at wholefoods or another HFS?

Thanks

I get it at either Whole Foods or the Vitamin Shoppe (they are also online). Other HFS probably have it, too.

if its not D, then just go with it for a while, it is just working its majic trying to repopulate and flush out your system, just out of curiosity, if it isn't D, then why is the increased BM a problem?

I'm IBS-A. I take about 2 teaspoons of Acacia a day, which is a pretty low dose but it seems to be working for me nonetheless.
Do you eat anything with the PD? I know it says to take it on an empty stomach, but I take mine with dinner and it works just fine. Maybe try taking it with some food and earlier in the day?

The same thing happened to me...it's just your digestive system adjusting. Your gut has to get acclimatized to it...I went several times a day in the beginning--your digestion is trying to become more optimal.

I orderd Primal Defense on line from the Garden of Life website (I don't know the exact address offhand but you can find it on other websites too by just typing in primal+defense in your browser.) I had already ordered it before I did this to do any comparison shopping. I also saw it at my local GNC (I'm in New Jersey)...again, not sure which price is best, but of course no shipping if you can find it in person. Good luck.

It's a problem because it's difficult to tell when it is going to come on. I have an active schedule with my children (toddler/preschooler) and I don't always have an available restroom which makes it quite stressful. Also, they are not feeling "complete" so it's affecting how I'm viewing what I'm doing with Heather's diet and the Acacia. I think I'm eating less IF and not drinking a lot of water b/c I figure that I'm going so much already, I'm afraid doing those two things will give me d. It's such a balancing act so now that I know it might be the PD impacting too, at least I can stick to the diet/supplement plan and wait it out. Incidentally, today was much better but got my period too! Maybe the last few days were just gearing up (I ususally get d more around this time) Could I please add any other variables into the mix to confuse me about my BMs!!
